After 6 months resting from his arm injury, Dennis feels ready to get back out in the world!
I went to a photography workshop last night and took Dennis, posed beautifully in spite of a severe arm injury. Here he's making his usual seductive facial expression into the glowing evening sun.
After a 5 foot fall (ok, more like I dropped him), Dennis's left arm suffered major injuries. Wooden epidermis completely removed exposing his springs (see photo). Elmers glue and tape were applied so he should be back to his unusual self in a few days. Dennis has been a bit of a "drama queen" though, requesting Valium and burbon.
Dennis has a girlfriend now, a spunky little wood spoon/fork combo that he met in Ireland. George our cat, was a bit jealous and ripped her from his arms after this photo was taken. I found Spork later hiding in the closet.
Dennis's story is very simple. He was accidentally abandoned by his fellow space mates when they visited our planet many years ago. He took up residence with a couple in Santa Cruz who discovered him at a local art shop pretending to be an artist mannequin on shelf high above the doorway. Dennis spends most of his time hanging out with books and other useless items on a shelf in the office of their home. Occasionally, he's travels with the couple, posing for photos to entertain them as well as himself.
